My first finished game: Petix

June 4, 2010 - 5:43 am

What better way to start out into game development than creating your own Tetris game.

Petix is a Tetris-clone that does everything you would expect from such a Tetris game. It moves, it rotates, it completes a line. What fun!

I was planning on adding more to the gameplay like having powerups, bombs, and such, but decided to stick to the basics. I’m still learning the ropes in game development and making a complex game right from the start will have a very steep learning curve. I’d rather finish a simple one, then move on with another. This way, the learning curve will be gradual and much more healthy.

So yeah, if you’re feeling bored, why not give it a spin?

    Hello sir!

I would like to ask about games that can or could be done on C++. I am a student of Engr. Joshua Cuesta in C++ Programming Laboratory. I would like to have a suggestion for our machine problem. Thanks!
